Say hello to my little friend

How does your garden grow? Mine grows fast, apparently! :) I sowed 150 little buggers (bell peppers, jalapenos, serranos, leeks, cauliflower, eggplant and lots of tomatoes) on Monday, and 3 nights later....this little guy appeared! Today, day 4, 10 cauliflower, 3 cherry tomato and 4 cherokee purple tomatoes have sprouted. This weekend we're hoping to start building our raised beds so that we have a place to put the veggie plants once they are ready to go outside!

I think I'll go for a walk outside...

The weather was so gorgeous today that we decided to head downtown for a trip to the Olympic Scuplture Park. It was so much fun! Lots of cute dogs, lots of friendly people, lots of fun in general. :)

We walked around for about an hour and a half. It was so nice to soak up some sunshine!

Barack the Vote

Karl and I attended our state's caucus today. This time was a lot different than the one we went to in 2004...I think it's because a lot of people are so over (SO OVER) the current administration and also because the emotions around the two remaining candidates are so strong.

We also went downtown yesterday for the Obama rally...only we got there about 3 hours too late in order to actually get in to the over-capacity Key Arena. We ended up standing outside with several thousand other people, hoping to find a way to get in to the rally. No such luck, but we did get to see Obama! He came outside in an impromptu speech to those of us who couldn't get in to hear his official speech. People were SO EXCITED when he came outside! One young boy went running by us yelling "I touched Obama! I touched Obama!". So great to see people getting involved.

(picture taken from the Seattle Times website...my camera battery is still dead, and the charger I ordered from Amazon didn't fit...)

This is going to be a big year, possibly one for the history books. It's pretty exciting, and I'm guessing there's going to be a lot of CNN-watching in our household between now and November...

I love baby feet

Little Griffin @ 12 days old

Thanks, Leslie, for letting me come over and have fun with your camera! :)

I've been carrying around a little zippered clutch that I made...it was intended to be a prototype for lots of Christmas gifts, but I couldn't quite figure out how to make the zipper look right. So for now, it's my little perfectly imperfect clutch! It's just the right size to hold my cell phone, a really small wallet, my iPod and my reusable grocery bag. I love it...as long as I don't look too closely at the top. :)
